1 Part-time 3 days ago Full Job Description General Description The summer camp bus driver will safely transport campers to and from camp and various events.
Supervises and assists passengers in getting on and off bus as needed.
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections.
Maintains rules governing passenger conduct while on the bus.
Transports groups of summer camp kids and is immediately responsible for the safety of the participants.
Interacts effectively with fellow employees, program participants, supervisors, professionals and the general public.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Events Manager in accordance with established methods, schedules and procedures.
Essential Job Functions Provide safe and dependable transportation for all program participants and staff.
Communicate to your supervisor any conflict or issues that arise.
Represent the district in a positive manner when communicating with public.
Follow all rules of the road set by the Florida Department of Transportation.
Ensure that the bus can be operated safely before driving and conduct pre-trip safety inspection.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age Valid state of Florida CDL driver's license with Class B passenger and air break endorsements and be in good standing Proficient in manual shift transmission Possess the ability to maintain participant discipline and ensure that participant behavior is not a distraction to safe driving Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skills - Knowledge, ability, and skill to operate safely a 45-passenger bus on a daily basis; Ability - Ability to work with minimal driving instructions, adhere to all driving laws and the ability to read, write, and navigate to different locations; Skills - Strong organizational skills.
Ability - Ability to calmly respond to health emergencies and environmental hazards.
Ability - Must be able to communicate with the public and staff in a professional manner.
Ability - Must be able to clearly communicate in writing and orally, perform accurate work and make sound decisions.
Ability - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability - Ability to work in outdoor environment with exposure to extreme weather, wooded area, insects, wildlife.
Ability - Ability to work independently Ability - Ability to follow the daily schedule in a timely manner Physical Requirements This is continual light work.
Requires frequent driving for long periods of time; Assists passengers on and off the bus when help is needed; lifting 50
pounds and carrying/pushing/pulling 50
pounds; good finger/hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination; good eyesight, hearing and speech; working in adverse environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.
) for long periods of time.
Must meet Department of Transportation Physical Standards and Regulations Operation safely of a 45-passenger bus Additional Information JOB LOCATION:
Primarily located at Camp Wewa, 221 S.
Binion Road, Apopka, FL 32703.
May work at any City owned buildings, parks, grounds and recreation facilities.
All off-site locations and facilities utilized as part of the City's participation or involvement in an event, activity or job assignment.
