Manages the execution of accounting tasks including, but not limited to, accounts payable, month-end journal entries, sales tax returns, balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, financial reporting, and others as assigned by the Controller.
Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of US GAAP, be organized, be a self-starter, ability to proceed and follow through with action plans, and provide solution implementation and improvements with minimal monitoring from management.
Performs day-to-day accounting activities on a timely and accurate basis to ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end financial statement close and financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
Prepare, record, and supervise monthly close for assigned business units within the prescribed close schedule; journal entries, account reconciliations, roll forwards, accruals, reclassifications, intercompany transactions, and other supporting schedules; actively investigate reconciling items/variances and resolve timely.
Responsible for preparation and analysis of Work-in-Process schedules for monthly reporting:
working closely with project managers to ensure the accuracy of project work completed, estimated costs, and investigating unusual/unexpected results.
Updates project metrics and provides reporting to management as requested.
Review budgeted cost versus actual cost/job cost with Project Managers to investigate variances and provide explanations for significant variances.
Preparation/oversight of sales tax for assigned business units.
Works efficiently with team members within accounting and across departments/companies to implement changes and complete special projects required as part of company-wide goals and objectives.
Provides oversight and support for various business unit positions (i.
e.
, AP/AR, payroll, office management, and administration).
Cross-trained in various accounting functions/roles to perform as a backup to ensure continuity of company-wide/intercompany accounting functions.

Bachelor's Degree in accounting2.
Minimum 5 years of experience working in an accounting role within a corporate environment3.
Construction experience is required with specific experience with Work In Process schedules, lien releases, NTOs, etc.

In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations5.
Knowledge of accounting systems and applications such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, PeopleSoft, or similar ERP systems and applications6.
Advanced Excel skills:
formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
